Cottesmore St Mary Catholic Primary School

PTA Supporters of Cottesmore St Mary School

The Parents and Teachers Association

Teachers, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles & Family Friends who all work together to raise funds for the school.

The PTA aims to raise funds to enrich the children’s educational experience through purchasing items such as:
- IT Equipment
- PE Equipment
- Playtime Equipment
- Additional Project Resources

The PTA also helps the school to fund smaller activities throughout the year such as the Christmas Disco, providing teas & coffees at school performances and funding the Year 6 Leavers’ books.

More than just a fundraising committee!

Although fundraising is the main aspect of the committee, SOCS builds on the great community that we are very fortunate to have at Cottesmore St Mary. Planning or attending events is a great way to further bring together our school community.

How it works

The PTA is run by a committee consisting of a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, a member of Teaching Staff and Class Representatives.
At least one meeting is held every term at which decisions are taken, suggestions are made and events are planned. It is at these meetings that we discuss how best to use the funds that we have raised.

Our Events

Our PTA run several main events throughout the year; the Summer Fair, the Golf day & evening, the Quiz night & the Advent Fayre. In addition to this there are various smaller events throughout the year such as cake sales & pop up shops.

How can you get involved?

Everyone who has a child at school can help the PTA. You can be involved as much or as little as you would like by:

Attending events – Just taking the time to come along to events is a great contribution.
Donating items – We are often asking for support with donations for cake sales, the summer fair, the Advent Fayre and clothes for Phil the Bag.
Contributing your ideas – Any great ideas for fundraisers.
Giving your time – To attend meetings, do a stint on a stall, to organise or to help set up or clean up.

Class Representatives

Each class has a representative. These class reps attend the SOCS meetings and provide a vital link between their classes and the committee. They help to ensure that planning for events is well communicated and organised.
Our PTA could not manage without them!
