Mary Mass

The Mary Mass is a tribute to Mary, the Patron Saint of our school. To honour her we celebrate a whole school outdoor mass. This Mass bring together the whole school community. Each year group takes part in their own unique way e.g. by creating a dance, drama or art work. The choir and samba band lead the school community through songs devoted to Mary our mother. Children and families bring in flowers to scatter, share and to crown the statue of Mary. A special moment in the Mass is when Mary is crowned by a Y6 child. After Mass we share the bunches of flowers with Mums and grandparents and finish the celebration with a whole school picnic on the field with our families and friends.
This year to honour Mary, we are asking children to take part in a variety of year group challenges that we will use to create a special Mary Mass tribute. There is also a whole school challenge to create a Mary Garden (see linked document below for details). Images from these will then be used to create a virtual rosary for you to share as a family at home and for future years.
