Year 4 visit Hever Castle

As part of their work on the Tudors, year 4 visited Hever castle in Kent, the family home of Anne Boleyn. They had a fantastic time looking at a Tudor house and getting ideas for their forthcoming task to write a story set in Tudor times. They saw Anne’s bedroom and the room where Henry VIII stayed when he visited her. Most poignant of all was Anne’s ‘Book of Hours’ or Prayer Book in which she wrote ‘ Remember me when you do pray’ shortly before her death.

Sketching the castle to look closely for detail.

It was not all work, however, as the children enjoyed the grounds and especially the Water maze!
